Terry Semel to leave Yahoo’s board of directors

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Yahoo Inc. said late Thursday that its non-executive chairman and former chief executive Terry Semel will step down from its board of directors. Semel served as CEO of struggling Internet company Yahoo from 2001 until last summer, when he was replaced by co-founder Jerry Yang. Semel will be replaced as chairman by current Yahoo board member Roy Bostock, the company said. “It has been an honor for me to work with Yahoo’s incredibly talented people over the past seven years, and I’m proud of all that we’ve accomplished during that time,” Semel said in a prepared statement.
