High court: No action on ruling favoring drug fraud patients
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Supreme Court justices were split on a lower court ruling favoring patients who sued a drug maker over a diabetes treatment that allegedly harmed them, The Associated Press reported Monday. With Chief Justice John Roberts not participating, the court was split 4-4 on the lower court ruling, leaving it intact, the news service said. The suits concern the diabetes drug Rezulin made by Warner-Lambert, which is now owned by Pfizer Inc . Plaintiffs allege Warner-Lambert committed fraud by misleading regulators to get the drug approved, the AP reported.
