Wendy’s inks deals to open more than 60 stores in Mexico
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Wendy’s International Inc. said Monday it has signed development agreements to open more than 60 restaurants in two Mexican cities over the next seven years. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Wendy’s said two new franchisees will build and operate the restaurants in Monterrey and Mexico City, with the first of the stores expected to open before the end of the year. Wendy’s existing franchisee, Wenco-Mexico S.A., operates 12 restaurants in the cities of Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua. There are more than 190 Wendy’s restaurants in the Latin America-Caribbean region in 14 markets, the company said.
