American Axle, UAW to meet again and possibly restart talks

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — The chairman and chief executive of American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. and the president of the United Auto Workers are scheduled to meet Monday and possibly restart talks aimed at ending a strike that’s lasted more than a month, a Dow Jones Newswires report said, citing a company representative. The labor action by the UAW, which represents 3,650 American Axle workers, has forced General Motors Corp. to idle all or part of 30 factories. the report added.
