China Shenhua in tie-up talks with Anglo American: report

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — Chinese coal miner China Shenhua Group is seeking closer ties with U.K.-listed mining giant Anglo American PLC and could take as much as a 10% stake, according to a media report Monday. China Shenhua, parent of the Hong Kong-listed China Shenhua Energy , is considering the move as part of a strategy to forge closer ties with other resource groups and solidify rights to access their production, the South China Morning Post reported Monday, without citing its source. The report said talks were at an early stage.
