No winners among larger Japanese equity trust in fiscal 2007
HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — There were no winners among larger domestic funds invested in Japanese equities in fiscal 2007, according to a media report Tuesday. All 136 equity investments trusts domiciled in Japan and with assets larger than 10 billion yen ($99 million) had negative returns for the period, according to the business daily Nikkei, which cited data from Morningstar Japan KK. Only one of the investment trusts was able to limit losses to less than 20%, the report said. During the 12-month period the benchmark Nikkei Average shed 27.5%.
