Merrill Lynch: Government probing auction-rate securities

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Merrill Lynch disclosed in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it received complaints from various governmental agencies on auction rate securities, including the recent failure of auctions, and is cooperating with those requests.
