OGE Energy profit down 24.4%

LONDON (MarketWatch) — OGE Energy Corp. , the parent of Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co., said Wednesday that its first-quarter net profit fell 24.4% to $13 million, or 14 cents a share, from $17.2 million, or 19 cents a share, a year earlier. Total operating revenue for the period rose 12.8% to $994.7 million. The group said its Enogex natural has pipeline business recorded earnings of 24 cents a share compared to 17 cents a share a year earlier. Its OG&E electric utility swung to a loss of 12 cents a share, compared to earnings of 2 cents a share the year before, largely due to higher operation and maintenance expenses.
