Tech stocks claim early session gains

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Technology stocks were largely on the rise in early trading Thursday, with gains from Apple Inc. , Microsoft Corp. , Dell Inc. and Intel Corp. . Advanced Micro Devices Inc. shares rose 2 cents to $6.93 ahead of the chipmaker’s shareholder meeting Thursday morning. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index rose 8.7 points to 2,447.
