U.S. stock futures hold on to gains after jobs data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock futures held onto their gains Thursday after the Labor Department reported that the number of people filing for the first time for unemployment benefits fell by 18,000 to 365,000 on a seasonally adjusted basis in the week ending May 3. S&P 500 futures rose 3.70 points to 1,399.50 and Nasdaq 100 futures added 6 points to 1,966.50. Dow industrial futures rose 25 points.
