Weyerhaeuser agrees to sell Australia Group to Carter Holt

TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) — Weyerhaeuser Co., the Federal Way, Wash., forest-products company, said it agreed to sell its Australia Group to Carter Holt Harvey. Terms weren’t disclosed. The deal is subject to Australian antitrust and foreign-investment clearance, WY said in a statement on Sunday. Carter Holt Harvey is a forest-products company with offices in Auckland, New Zealand, and Chatswood, Australia. Weyerhaeuser also said it is in talks to sell its half-interest in the Green Triangle timberlands business to a fund advised by Global Forest Partners, West Lebanon, N.H.
