CORRECT: China to raise fuel and electricity prices

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — China raised gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel prices Thursday, the National Development and Reform Commission said on its Web site. Prices of gasoline will be raised by 17% to 6,980 yuan per ton from 5,980 yuan, diesel prices will be raised by 18% to 6,520 yuan per ton from 5,520 yuan, and jet fuel prices will be raised by 25% to 7,450 yuan per ton from 5,950 yuan. Natural gas prices won’t be changed. From July 1, electricity prices will also be raised by 4.7%. (Corrects day of week.)
