Kohl schedules antitrust hearing on Yahoo, Google deal
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Sen. Herb Kohl announced Friday he will hold a hearing to examine the proposed search advertising partnership between Yahoo Inc. and Google Inc. Kohl, chairman of the subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and consumer rights, said in a prepared statement that the hearing will be held Tuesday, July 15, and will feature witnesses from Yahoo , Google and Microsoft Corp. Yahoo reached the deal with Google as an alternative to Microsoft’s unsolicited acquisition bid, though antitrust officials at the U.S. Department of Justice are currently reviewing it before the companies proceed.
