Embarq to cut 500-700 jobs, 300 contract positions: report

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Embarq Corp. will cut 500 to 700 jobs and eliminate about 300 contract positions by the fourth quarter, The Associated Press reported Friday. The cuts will focus on the company’s Network Services organization in an attempt to bring down costs, according to the news service.
