Mexico’s economy grows 2.8% in second quarter
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Mexico’s economy grew by a weaker-than-expected 2.8% in the second quarter of this year, up slightly from 2.6% in the first quarter, the country’s statistical institute INEGI reported late Thursday. Most economists expected GDP growth of 3.1%. “With the latest data all confirming an accelerating slowdown, the risk of a deeper deceleration in the second half is rising,” wrote analysts at RBC Capital Markets.
