Pakistan sets Sept. 6 for presidential election

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Pakistan’s election commission said Friday it has set the nation’s presidential election for Saturday Sept. 6. The vote will chose a successor for Pervez Musharraf, the controversial president who, as head of the army, originally took power in a bloodless 1999 military coup.
