Reports: Del. Sen. Joseph Biden to be Obama’s pick for VP
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — News reports said late Friday that veteran Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden will be the running mate of Sen. Barack Obama. The Associated Press and CNN both quoted anonymous Democratic Party sources as saying the 65-year-old Biden, who contested Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination earlier this year, will be his pick for the No. 2 job in the federal government. If reports pan out, Biden will be selected after an exhaustive review of a number of candidates, including Sen. Evan Bayh from Indiana and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine. Biden and Obama are expected to appear together at a rally in Springfield, Ill. on Saturday.
