Baker Hughes: Worldwide rig counts up 87 in August

LONDON (MarketWatch) — Baker Hughes said rig counts worldwide rose 87 to 3,523 in August, and that rig counts in the U.S. rose 55 to 1,987. Baker Hughes counts the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets.
