Mylan third-quarter earnings climbs 14.7%

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Mylan Inc. said Thursday its third-quarter earnings were $172 million, or 45 cents a share, compared to $149.9 million, or 60 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Sales more than doubled to $1.19 billion from $472 million, and includes about $455 million from the sale of company’s rights to Bystolic. On an adjusted basis, Mylan said it earned 23 cents a share, while analysts polled by FactSet expected 11 cents a share, on average. Shares of Mylan added 2.4% in premarket trading to $7.15.
