Solar stocks sink after SunTech warns on delays
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Shares of solar-panel makers plunged Thursday after SunTech Power Holdings warned on fourth-quarter sales, citing the euro’s fall vs. the U.S. dollar and customer-order delays due to trouble getting project financing. Shares of SunTech, a module-maker based in San Francisco and Wuxi, China, closed down 40%. Shares of Solarfun Power dropped 34%, LDK Solar fell 24%, JA Solar Holding lost 11% and First Solar shares tumbled 14%.
